Is there a silver lining with Hurricane Sandy?

If there is a silver lining in Hurricane Sandy it may be the assistance being offered.

There is Governmental help such as FEMA aid,“Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.”

Organizations such as the red cross where mobilized before Sandy hit and have been on the ground since.

There were a lot of local volunteer efforts. There were many different groups such as UJA-Federation

You can Google many stories of communities coming together to help those most impacted. One of the most notable aspects of billion dollar disasters in America over the last decades has been the willingness of Americans to offer assistance to other Americans impacted by these disasters. We are still a very giving people who are very willing to help during an emergency.
